What a Fun UQ Graduation Photos Session Looks Like

If you are about to graduate from the University of Queensland, congratulations! As a fellow UQ Alumnus, I know it’s no secret that the UQ is a one-of-a-kind institution. With friendly staff, the highest amounts of school spirit, the nation’s leading researchers (who were the pioneers in developing COVID vaccine!), and, of course, the most beautiful campus, graduating from UQ is an honour in and of itself. Before you completely close this chapter, I’m sure you’re wanting to capture your last few moments on campus. I want you to look back at your college days and remember the things that were important to you. In ten years time when you look at these UQ Graduation photos, you will be reminded of the good times and the bad times, and how far you have achieved! Now, let’s rock this thing!

THE GRADUATION

Firstly, congratulations on making it through your school journey! Trust me, it is no small feat and you should be celebrating like crazy! Whether it’s your undergraduate degree, masters or doctorate, it’s so important to freeze this moment in time. You will never have this exact journey again! So, why not make it a joyful experience where you feel like the badass graduate that you are!

As an UQ Graduation Photographer, I’m here to give you a fun and stress-free graduation experience (full of cheesy jokes and bad puns, of course) that focuses on the importance of being able to look back at your graduation journey with your future family generations.

What time of the day shall we do the photoshoot?

Generally I recommend to schedule our shoot about an hour before/after your ceremony whilst your makeup and outfits are immaculate. December is when UQ graduations are held and boy is the summer heat unbearable!

The process of having UQ graduation photos done with Hikari Lifestyle Photography

1. Let’s start chatting! I want to know everything, from when you’re graduating, where you’re graduating from, and what you’re excited for after you’re done with school!  Reach out and let’s chat about your vision for your grad session and what you’d love to see.
   We will find the best date for you, and get you locked in on the calendar. The fun is just beginning for your UQ graduation photography session! 

2. Once you are locked in on my calendar, we will start planning your session! Choose your favourite spots on your college campus and we will create a path to follow! If you don’t really have a favourite spot don’t worry! I know the best spots around UQ! 

I will also help you choose the best outfits for your session! We will discuss what to wear, what colours look best, and how to best rock your session. 

3. I am your guide throughout this entire process and I am here to help. I want you to ask questions and know that I will always be there for you. You are not alone in this graduation journey. 

4. Your session is finally here! We are going to make you feel like the badass graduate you are. Fun is the name of the game when it comes to graduation sessions. While I want to make sure all of your must have graduation photos are taken (classic cap and gown or portraits for the parents), I also want to make sure you are laughing and having a good time. We will throw some confetti, dance to our favourite songs, and just have a great time together. 

5. Yay! Your session is done! You can expect a sneak peek of your session within 48 hours to share with your family and friends. From there, your gallery will be back in 2 weeks. I hate waiting for things, so why would I make you?!
