Jade & Rich is another beautiful couple who met in the freshman year at UQ. Naturally they wanted their engagement photos done here for all the memories of walking together along UQ Lakes on those late afternoons, their first kiss at The Great Court. Fast forward 8 years later they have a beautiful first child, Winnie joining them celebrating their relationship milestone.

My approach to couples photography can be summed up in 3 words: stress-free, joyful and relaxed.
I know being in front of the camera can be a vulnerable position to be in for some. Your job is to be be in the moment with your partner, relax on a picnic mat, take a stroll on the beach... I will be giving you plentiful prompts (and crack lame jokes) throughout to make you giggle. My goal is for you to walk away feeling like you've had a really fun date with your partner.
From my curated client wardrobe to look stunning in photographs to my six-step style guide, I will guide you for every step of the way to achieve the couples photos of your dreams. I have spent countless hours location scouting so I have a list of whimsical locations to shoot at, but I love incorporating client's ideas too -- together we will make magic happen!

2. pre-shoot meet up
You will receive a session prep guide & a style guide to help you & your family prepare well for your session. You will personally be invited to our home studio to try on the dresses, have a cuppa, talk about what you want/ don't want for your photos, take a look at how your photos can turn into art.
3. the session
On the day of photoshoot, get ready to be pampered by my hair and makeup artist. During the session I will give you plenty of guidance on how to pose for beautiful interactive shots. Zero experience needed.
4. the reveal
I ask for 4 weeks turnaround for photos to be ready. Once all ready I can come to your house or we can meet back in my studio to pick the photos.
5. your artwork
Get excited, start thinking about where you are going to display these beautiful portraits around your home! You will get the opportunity to pick the frames and/or proof your album! The artwork will be delivered to your door, zero fuss!

Highly recommend Hikari Lifestyle Photography! I pick Issy as our destination photographer for our oversea trip to Brisbane as I like her photography style - sweet and dreamy. We contact her via her website and communication with her is easy and she always respond promptly. She also provides useful tips for styling to prep her clients for the photoshoot day which I found super useful :)
On the photoshoot day, my fiancé and I go to her place for makeup and styling. Issy is the most easy person to talk to and she makes effort to know us as a couple which makes the photoshoot session effortless, comfortable and fun for the BOTH of us. (Yes! my fiancé enjoys the photoshoot session as well!) Issy gives us few directions on what to do and how to pose but most of the times she just let us to have fun. We just be our usual silly selves during the photoshoot just like how we are in our daily interactions and she captured our candid moments! Most importantly, the candid photos turn out so good! There is no one moment of awkwardness during the photoshoot session.
