Perfect Family Weekend Day Trip To Sarabah Estate Vineyard

Is wine tasting, cheese platter picnic under a canopy of olive trees on a quaint, dreamy countryside landscape your kinda date too? I am a sucker when it comes to olive groves with dreamy golden light filtering through the beautiful blue-grey olive leaves. This vineyard seriously transports you to the long Italian summer days where you can sip wine and eat cheese all day long!

Where is Sarabah?

Located just under an hour away from Brisbane, Sarabah Estate Vineyard is tucked in the serene valley of Lamington National Park in Canungra. The drive there is very scenic and not windy or bumpy at all. Hence it’s very suitable for young families and furbabies. Nestled in the beauty of Scenic Rim, good food and wine, magic views, peace and quiet await at Sarabah Estate on Rymera Road.

Set on 50 acres this hidden gem boasts not only a cellar door, but also Chalet Bistro for dining among the lush vines and olive grove. We ordered a woodfire pizza, cheese-tasting platter and a bottle of merlot to share between family. Make sure you sample drops like Rose, Sparkling Brut, Pinot Grigio and Shiraz and dine on plates such as mushroom and truffle arancini, truffle vegan mayonnaise and mushroom salt. If you go with a bigger group, perhaps settle in alfresco and pick up a slice of gourmet truffle pig pizza, with pork and fennel sausage, mozzarella, mushrooms and truffle oil of Italy.

Alpacas at Canungra Valley Vineyards

Mountview Alpaca Farm is 5 minutes down the road from Sarabah. I absolutely loved patting these fluffy cuties, feeding them and walking them!
