Top 5 gorgeous Gold Coast photoshoot locations you need to see

As a Gold Coast & Brisbane Family Photographer I’ve come to know quite a few of the best Gold Coast photoshoot locations for family & couples photos. So, I wanted to take the time and create some free resources for you to check out. So, even if you haven’t chatted with me yet to be your family photographer, you could most certainly use this as a guide. These are my favourite places to shoot in Gold Coast.

What makes it the perfect photoshoot location in Gold Coast?

There is something about family portraits on the beach- the clean, minimalistic backdrop makes the entire family pop. And of course, pastel sunset colours are my signature when on the beach. And why’s one of the best Gold Coast photoshoot locations? Because it’s 100% dog friendly too! The Spit is a dog-friendly beach so you are more than welcome to bring your furbaby along to our shoot!

What time of the day would be best?

I recommend sunset / sunrise hours for sure.

What makes it the perfect photoshoot location in Gold Coast?

Pizzey park pine forest will always be my favourite location to shoot. It has the perfect lighting, and it creates a fairy-tale like enchanted forest backdrop perfect for couples, family and maternity portraits. The lake next to the forest is perfect for golden hour portraits. Miami beach is only 5 min drive away – when you book with me there’s the opportunity for 3 different backdrops so you get more bang of your buck! It’s no doubt one of the best Gold Coast photoshoot locations in my opinion.

What time of the day would be best?

Sunset hours when the rays of light are golden and warm.

Ormeau Hills – spectacular photo spot near Gold Coast

What makes it the perfect photoshoot location in Gold Coast?

The Ormeau Hinterland features rolling hills and mountain ranges that is nothing but amazing. This is a one of a kind photoshoot locations in Gold Coast for those who love greenery and mountain backdrops in the golden sunset.

What time of the day is it best?

Sunset only, as the sun sets behind the mountains in the west for this glowy look.

What makes it the perfect photoshoot location in Gold Coast?

Autumn foliage in Queensland is absolutely beautiful – just imagine your next family portrait in the beautiful autumn colours when the trees turn every shade imaginable of yellow, orange and red.

What makes Autumn leaves special? Family photos in Autumn with Hikari is more like a family day out. Kids throwing leaves at each other and running on the carpet of maple leaves, basked in warm golden hour light. So dreamy! This location is exclusive to Hikari Lifestyle Photography. What is the best time for photos here?

Every year it’s slightly different but these Autumn colours start to pop up in Brisbane / Gold Coast in May. Some times late April in Mount Tamborine is when the colours to really start to show. If you are in Adelaide, early April is when Autumn foliage appears.

Any time during the day, but preferably early morning or late afternoon. If overcast, any time of the day is fine. The photos below were taken when overcast.

A slice of Europe in Gold Coast – Spanish stairways, Italian fountains, beautiful architectures perfect for luxury engagement shoot, personal portraits and pre-formal photos. It has an unique backdrop for those who loves beautiful architecture.

What is the best time for photos here?

Any time of the day really. For the pink sunset colours definitely during golden hour about 1 hour before the sun sets.
